We had to drive to Newark, NJ, to the airport. Rob was really hoping that someone would pick up this trip so he wouldn't have to fly it, but no such luck. So, off we went. It took about an hour to get to the airport.
I dropped him off and then headed back to West Point. Crazy, I immediately got lost. I ended up in town somehow rather than on the freeway. A good thing I didn't get far because Rob called me about 15 min later and said his trip was gone, that someone had finally picked it up. So, I drove back to the airport and picked him back up. Yippee. I'm not sure how much exploring I would have done on my own.
We went into Cornwall and had breakfast. We parked the car and then walked to the restaurant. There was some very loud and interesting chirping going on. We looked up and there were these huge nests all around us. They were on the poles, in the trees, everywhere. They were like condo complexes with multiple nests in on and some of them had two heads sticking out. It turned out that they are parrots. They have been there for at least 20 years.
After lunch we drove to the water and walked along the Hudson River. We had views of New York and..
Eventually we walked under the George Washington Bridge.
After a while we went back to the park.
Our rugs were still a little damp from being out in the rain back in Hanscom. Rob had laid them out when he arrived yesterday, but it is supposed to rain again tomorrow so we figured we'd better put them away.
We decided to go for a walk around the park. We saw that there was a trail near by and wanted to let Bella run free for a bit and go on her daily migration.
The trail was good for awhile and went up to the top of this look-out.
We ended up back at our campground which is on Round Pond. It is actually round.
We went on inside, did dinner, watched TV and went to bed.
