I fixed the sprinkler in Mom's yard. It was the pop-up and screws in sideways so I had to dig a much bigger hole in order to be able to rotate it. What a pain in the ass. But, I got it done and set it correctly after being blasted by it twice. It is a big relief to have it fixed.
I called Barbara because we had talked about getting together for lunch today, just the two of us. When I called she told me she had fallen in the bathroom during the night and hit her head and there was blood everywhere. She told me she was fine, but had quite a mess to clean up. What...?????
I quickly took a shower and drove over there. Oh my God. She gashed the top of her head about 2 inches. She has a huge goose egg over her right eye and the whole side of her face is turning black and blue. She has a huge purple mark at her eye. She still had lots of blood in her hair and a place where there was clumped blood that I was not sure was another gash or just remnant blood.
I took her to the sink and shampooed her hair. It was remnant blood and not another gash. The other one is bad enough, but it is closed up so it doesn't seem to need stitches. I kept asking her if she had a head ache, felt dizzy, or felt nauseated, all indicating a concussion, but she kept saying she felt fine. Just local tenderness. I cleaned up the bathroom floor which also had blood everywhere and then we sat and visited. God I feel so awful about her falling.
We had a really nice visit and she kept saying she felt fine. She seemed fine. And we had a really nice visit.
I went back to Mom's had dinner, watched TV and went to bed.
