It is so wet this morning. It started raining last night and really poured. Bella wouldn't go out to go potty before bed. I put a potty pad down, but she just holds it.
We went out this morning but she still didn't want to stay out very long.
We had our coffee and I worked on yesterday's blog. Rob decided it was time to get a move on so we got up. Bella wasn't quite a patient today. She ran outside while I was pulling things in, so Rob put her in my car. She is always quite happy there.
We hit the road around 10 am. We have a 3 hour drive again. It was pretty easy. Rob left first and I loaded the address into my GPS. We decide that I would go on ahead rather than follow him that was I could let him know which gate he needs to enter base. Ft Belvoir is a pretty big base. I caught Rob on the freeway about 10 min into the drive and passed him and kept on trucking.
We left New Jersey and entered Delaware. Then we drove through Delaware and entered Maryland. Bella and I had to pee. I popped in and used the potty and then let her out. She made a long pee right away and then we got back on the road. Surprisingly we caught Rob again and passed him. I guess I wasn't as far ahead of him as I thought.
We passed through Maryland and finally entered Virginia. We are not very far away from Annapolis, the Navy's Officer's School. I'm excited about that because we have been to West Point (Army's Officers Academy), The Air Force Academy in Colorado and the Citadel which is a Private Military Officer's Academy, but we have never been to Annapolis. It is definitely on my list of places to visit this week. We are very close to the border, because Annapolis is only about 27 miles away but it is in Maryland and we are in Virginia.
Anyway, back to Fort Belvoir. We have decided that it is an Army Logistics base.
We arrived around 1 pm, both of us together. We are in a back-in site backing up to the Potomac River.
It is overcast and misty, but on a sunny day I'm sure it will be awesome.
Rob backed in like a pro and we set up quickly. Afterwards we went for a walk-about. Partly to explore, but mostly for Bella because Rob and I want to go to the gym.
We met our neighbors, Ken and Brett and their dog a 9 year old beagle named Roxie. Bella and Roxie get along just fine. Roxie was not on a leash and we let Bella out of her fence.
We, Rob, Bella and I went for a walk along the river. We found a trail that also went along the river. Bella got to chase some squirrels and got to go on her daily migration. She was quite happy.
We took Bella back and then Rob and I went off to the gym. Rob did his lift workout and I did 2 circuits of upper body machines and then ran 2 miles on the treadmill. It felt good. When we came out of the gym it was getting dark. We fell back with our time last night. I like it this way. I like it getting dark in the evening so you go in and have an early dinner and get to bed at a decent time. Rob hates it. He likes it when it stays light until 9 pm.
We went to the PX to check it out. It is a nice one. I looked at the women's clothes and decided I will come back when I'm not all sweaty and funky. Rob found a couple pairs of shorts that he liked. We got some doggie treats for the Boo and some filters for our water pitcher and a couple compression wraps. Rob got them for his elbows, he has tendinitis. I got them for my knees. We'll see if they help me when I run. The compression is supposed to be good.
We went home and fixed some dinner and watched the Seattle Seahawks game. It was a good, close game, but unfortunately, the Seahawks lost by 2 points. Booooo!
We flipped through the channels and discovered that the Raiders game was being televised. The problem there was that the game didn't start until 8:30 pm. It was off to a good start, but the bad guys were catching up. I was soooo tired I wanted to go to bed but didn't want to give up on my team. Rob finally did go to bed so I secured his spot on the couch. I kept falling asleep, but did get to watch the final 5 min. And Yippee!!! They won. Phew! I went to bed.
